Excursions
Smoosh endeavours to provide outings into our local community for all children where possible, during the term, pupil free days and also vacation care.
Homework
Smoosh is a recreational service, however we do understand that homework is a concern for many families due to their work hours. Staff will endeavour to encourage your child to do their homework and will offer assistance if needed.Meals/Snacks
SMOOSH encourages healthy eating and aims to provide children with a healthy, nutritious breakfast and afternoon snack.
Children are encouraged to develop good eating habits through example and education. Parents are encouraged to share family and multicultural values and ideas to enrich the variety and enjoyment of food by the children. Fresh drinking water is always available; children are allocated their own cups labelled with their name.
Snack times are seen as social events where children and staff can relax and talk about their day. Children are encouraged to relax by taking time to sit and enjoy their food and the company of others.
Menu's are planned over a four-week period with the 5th week being the children's choice.
Additional Dietary Needs
Parents of children with special dietary needs, due to cultural/religious reason, food intolerances or lifestyle choices are asked to complete the Care Plan form for children with Special Dietary Needs.
SMOOSH will endeavour to provide alternative food were possible. Parents will be asked to supply foods that are of a specialized nature. Please ensure your speak to the Coordinator about your child's dietary needs on enrolment.
